The software can use USB, Bluetooth, or WIFI devices (in order of preference for best performance). I am willing to lend or sell my device (presently in Maryland). Alternatively, make up a short OBD2 extension where the data 2 wires are crossed to the correct pins. Without the switch you'd no longer be able to access the standard OBD2 network any more. I could not find a ready made readers anywhere in the USA so I ordered one from the UK, but there are plenty of online explanations on how to modify our own, by adding a 2 pole, 2 position toggle switch to the case. The hardware can be almost any ELM327 reader (some cheap ones may not work) with the 2 data wires re-connected to 2 other pins, to access the proprietary Ford car network. I ordered 2 cut keys from a locksmith online, after sending him a good photo of the key pattern. My total cost was about $65 compared to the stealership's $200. I just added 2 new keys to my car computer using this method, (only had one ignition key). It's possible to access the PATS programming with a simple modified OBD2 reader and a free program such as FORSCan.
